New Partnerships Bring Language Education to Ukrainian Children: Together for Ukraine partners with BOOKR Class and Amazon Web Services
The Educational Equality Institute (TEEI) announces a new partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and BOOKR Class, a startup whose interactive educational app makes English learning engaging for children. The partnership expands our language learning programme for Ukrainian children affected by the war, with 1,000 free licences distributed through local Ukrainian organisations.
The BOOKR Class app features animated English books, games, native narration, text highlighting, songs, and flashcards, providing supplementary material for our children’s language learning programme.
Together for Ukraine provides language learning support for both adults and children. In addition, this new collaboration will enable us to expand the children’s language learning component of the programme.
The support will be provided through Together for Ukraine’s assistance programme for Ukrainian NGOs, schools, and local organisations. Including Care and its “Recovery Camp” for children affected by the war, several orphanages, Help Ukraine Donbas, and various libraries such as the Library Union of Ukraine and Shevchenko Kids Library in Kyiv.
Recovery Camp
A project by the Ukrainian organisations Sincere Heart and Ucare offers psycho-emotional rehabilitation programmes to children and mothers affected by the war through art therapy, educational games, music classes, sports, and volunteer-based entertainment. In addition, families receive free accommodation, food, clothing, trauma-informed therapy, access to medical resources, and other humanitarian needs.
Help Ukraine Donbas
Provides assistance and support to people affected by the ongoing war in Ukraine, delivering essential products and medicine to the Donetsk region and supporting education in the area heavily impacted by military shelling. Help Ukraine Donbas and TEEI collaborate to provide regional schools access to remote learning options.
Local libraries
The Shevchenko Central Library for Kids in Kyiv is the largest library for children in Ukraine.
We thank BOOKR Kids and AWS for their support in this partnership. They have allocated educational resources for children at no cost.
The free lessons through their interactive educational app reach thousands of Ukrainian children in need.
Dorka Horváth, CEO of BOOKR Class, states: “We believe that education is a powerful tool for rebuilding lives and communities. We’re committed to supporting Ukrainian organizations in their efforts to help children affected by the war.”
Their support for Ukrainian children’s education during the war has been substantial, and we are glad to have them as partners.
Free access from BOOKR Class is available immediately and runs for one year. The Educational Equality Institute, BOOKR Class, and Amazon Web Services will continue to support the children of Ukraine.

Language support for Ukrainian children is part of a wider education programme. The Recovery Camp for Ukrainian children run by the Sincere Heart Foundation provides the psychological rehabilitation that allows children to re-engage with learning. For Ukrainian parents who are also displaced and trying to learn the language of their host country, Language Connect offers free 1-to-1 conversation practice with volunteer partners. When parents can communicate confidently in their host-country language, children’s educational outcomes improve alongside their own employment prospects, both challenges addressed together by TEEI’s integrated programme pipeline.
