Every cookie, named.
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device; local storage is a similar store inside your browser. This page lists what this site can store on your device: who sets it, what it does, how long it stays, and whether it waits for your yes. Analytics and advertising cookies stay off until you switch them on. A few services load before you choose, and this page says which.
The register
What we store, and who sets it.
The cookie banner has one essential category that is always on and three switches you control in Cookie Settings: Analytics, Marketing and Functional. Your answer is saved the moment you give it. The last table lists what this site stores today without waiting for a switch.
Essential

Analytics
Off until you say yesHow people use the site, so we can see which pages help and where people get stuck. None of these load until you switch Analytics on, and switching it off stops them and deletes their cookies.

Sentry error reports also wait for this switch; Sentry sets no cookies. PostHog stores its data in the United States, Hotjar and Sentry in the EU; the Privacy Policy says what each of them records. Hotjar lists every cookie it can set in its cookie table. You can also use Google's opt-out browser add-on.
Marketing
Off until you say yesGoogle Ads measurement that connects a completed donation or signup to the ad that brought you here. It also lets Google connect the visit to its own advertising cookies, which is why it stays off until you say yes.

With Marketing on, our server also records a click on a signup link to one of our platforms, with the ad click reference and keyed hashes of your IP address and browser. The Marketing switch also mentions YouTube, but no page on this site embeds a YouTube player today; our videos play from our own storage.
Functional
OptionalThis switch passes your answer to Google's tag, which then may or may not use functional and personalisation storage. It sets no cookie of its own. The Fundraise Up donation form does not follow it; see the next table.

Also before you choose: on our live site, Google's tag for Google Ads and Google Analytics loads when you first touch, scroll or press a key, or after 30 seconds. Until you say yes it sets no cookies and saves nothing on your device. It still sends Google a short signal marked "consent denied", with the page address and title, the page you came from, your screen size and language, browser and device details and a random identifier that is not saved. On our workplace giving page, Double the Donation's employer search loads shortly after the page opens. Forms protected by Cloudflare Turnstile load it when you start using the form; Turnstile sets no cookie on this site.

Product analytics and session recordings, with Analytics on. Data is stored in PostHog's US cloud.

Analytics and ads wait for your yes.
Cookie Settings
Switch Analytics, Marketing and Functional on or off at Cookie Settings. All three are off until you switch them on. Your choice takes effect immediately and is logged, so it is on record that we honoured it. Switching Analytics off stops PostHog and Hotjar and deletes their cookies.
What does not wait
Our page count without cookies, Google's signal without cookies, the Fundraise Up donation form and its cookies, Double the Donation on the workplace giving page, and the storage in the last table above. The Privacy Policy explains each of them.
On our platforms
TEEI Language, TEEI Mentorship and Skills Academy ask for their own choice about analytics and Google Ads. Change it there.

Block, allow or clear cookies for any site: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, Opera. On mobile, look under Settings, then your browser, then Privacy.
What blocking breaks
Clearing or blocking essential cookies and storage signs you out, resets the choices you made here and can stop a donation from completing.
