For Ukrainian learners

7 questions

Is it actually free?
Yes. 100% free. No fees, no "premium" upgrades, no catches. Ever.
How long until I get matched with a mentor?
Most learners find and book their first session within a few days. You browse mentors and request sessions directly; no waiting for us to match you.
What if my mentor doesn't show up?
It happens rarely, but if it does: book another mentor. You're not locked to one person, and no-shows affect mentor ratings.
Can I switch mentors?
Yes. Book any mentor, anytime. Try different people until you find the right fit.
Do I need to speak English already?
For TEEI Language: no. We have volunteers for all levels, including beginners. For TEEI Mentorship, basic English helps, but many mentors speak Ukrainian or Russian.
Can I use this from inside Ukraine?
Yes. All programmes work anywhere with internet access.
Чи можу я писати українською?
Так. Напишіть нам через контактну форму; ми відповімо.

For girls and women globally

5 questions

Is TEEI only for Ukrainians, or for girls and women globally?
Neither only. A path to learning and independence for girls and women worldwide is our founding mission. The Women Buddy Programme runs today, and Together for Her Success is our launching global initiative.
What runs for women today, and what is launching?
Today: Women Buddy Programme matches women in Norway for peer-led integration support. Launching: Together for Her Success, our global initiative for girls and women. Together for Latin America is in pilot.
I'm a woman outside Ukraine. Can I join now?
Yes for the Women Buddy Programme if you are in Norway. For Together for Her Success, tell us through the contact form and we will let you know when the global initiative opens.
How can I get involved as a partner, mentor, or supporter?
Partners and sponsors: start at /partners/. Mentors and volunteers: /volunteer/. Donors can designate gifts for girls' education at /donate/.
Where can I read about the founding mission?
Our founding mission is on the mission page; programme detail lives at /programmes/education/.

For volunteers

6 questions

How much time do I actually need to commit?
As little as one hour per month. You control your calendar completely.
Do I need teaching or mentoring experience?
No. You need professional experience (for mentoring) or language fluency (for TEEI Language). We want real practitioners, not trained instructors.
What if I need to cancel a session?
Cancel through the platform with as much notice as possible. Learners understand; just don't ghost them.
What if a learner doesn't show up?
It happens occasionally. Mark the no-show in the system, and the time is yours again.
What if I don't know how to help with something?
Be honest. Say "I don't know, but here's what I'd suggest..." One real conversation is more valuable than pretending to have all the answers.
How do I know this is legitimate?
We're a registered nonprofit in Norway (928 776 719) and the US (501(c)(3), EIN 33-2331817). Sessions run on TEEI's own platform, built and operated by our team.

For donors

6 questions

Where does my money actually go?
Volunteer-led delivery. Programmes are run by volunteers, not paid employees. Donations support education, mentorship, and language programmes directly.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
For US donors, yes; we're a 501(c)(3). EIN: 33-2331817. For other countries, check with your tax advisor.
How do I know you're legitimate?
We're registered in Norway (NGO 928 776 719) and the US (501(c)(3), EIN 33-2331817). We publish verified impact numbers and work with established partners including itslearning and Oxford University Press.
Can I see what my donation accomplished?
Yes. We send impact updates to donors and publish programme statistics publicly.
Can I donate to a specific programme?
Yes. Designate your gift for TEEI Language, TEEI Mentorship, upskilling, or girls' education when you donate.
Does my employer match donations, and how do I check?
Many employers match charitable giving. TEEI is on Benevity, YourCause, CyberGrants, and Alaya: search for "The Educational Equality Institute" or EIN 33-2331817. Your HR or workplace-giving lead can confirm coverage.

For companies and partners

10 questions

What does a partnership actually cost?
Nothing for the standard partnership. Programmes, volunteer onboarding, matching, safeguarding, and reporting through CSR Cockpit are all included at no cost. Companies that want to sponsor a cohort or expand programmes into a new region do so voluntarily; competitor reporting infrastructure typically runs $40K to $150K per year.
What's the minimum commitment to partner?
There isn't one. Some companies start with five employees volunteering an hour a month; others sponsor full programme cohorts. We design the shape with you in the first call.
How fast can we launch?
Most corporate volunteering programmes launch in 2 to 4 weeks from the first call. We handle volunteer onboarding, matching, and safeguarding briefings; your side mainly needs an internal comms slot and a sign-up link.
Which programmes can our employees join?
TEEI Mentorship (career mentoring, 400+ professional mentors), TEEI Language (1-to-1 conversation practice in 11 languages), Skills Academy (industry mentorship and webinars), and Digital First Steps (8-week digital literacy cohorts in the US). Each runs as 45 to 60 minute sessions; employees pick the format that fits their week.
What reporting do we get back?
Hours volunteered, sessions completed, participant matches, country and SDG breakdowns, and learner outcomes where captured. Companies that need CSRD or GRI evidence get a mapped view through CSR Cockpit covering ESRS S1-1, S1-12, S3-1, S3-3, and GRI 413-2. Exports in JSON or CSV; shareable links for auditors. See CSR Cockpit.
Are you on Benevity, YourCause, CyberGrants, or Alaya?
Yes on all four. Search for "The Educational Equality Institute" or EIN 33-2331817. If we are not visible on your portal, write to us and we will register.
Does it plug into our SSO and HRIS?
CSR Cockpit supports WorkOS-based SSO (SAML and OIDC) and SCIM 2.0 provisioning where configured. HRIS connection runs through Merge.dev. Slack and Microsoft Teams notifications are supported. Setup is part of partner onboarding.
How do you handle safeguarding and data protection?
Volunteer onboarding includes safeguarding briefings and a code of conduct; learners and volunteers are matched through the programme platform, not direct contact exchange. We operate to GDPR standards, with a DPA available on request during partner onboarding. Norway registration 928 776 719 and US 501(c)(3) EIN 33-2331817.
How much time does this take from each employee?
A typical volunteer commits one hour a month and can scale up if they want. Sessions are 45 to 60 minutes, scheduled in the employee's own calendar across time zones. Skills-based mentoring uses real expertise, so it counts as professional development for participants too.
How do we start a conversation?
Send your CSR focus and rough headcount through the contact form, or book a call from our partnerships page. First call is usually 30 minutes; partnership shape agreed in the second.

For CSR teams (CSR Cockpit)

8 questions

What is CSR Cockpit?
CSR Cockpit is TEEI's corporate-partnership dashboard. It tracks your employees' volunteering across all TEEI programmes, calculates SROI, and produces CSRD and ESRS-ready exports from the underlying session data.
What does it cost?
Nothing. CSR Cockpit is free for every corporate partner: no tiers, no per-seat fees, no add-ons. It is included in any TEEI corporate partnership at no charge.
Which reporting frameworks does it cover?
CSRD and ESRS social-disclosure exports, SROI calculations with methodology notes, and an Evidence Explorer that links each figure back to the underlying volunteering sessions. Frameworks and templates are listed on the CSR Cockpit page.
Are the numbers auditable?
Yes. Every figure in a report traces back to a specific volunteering session in the Evidence Explorer, with timestamp, programme, and participant role. Methodology notes for SROI and impact calculations are published alongside the exports.
Will it work with our SSO and HRIS?
Yes. SAML and OIDC sign-on through WorkOS, and HRIS sync through Merge.dev. Employee-to-company matching also works automatically through email domain if you would rather not connect a system on day one.
Can I see it before signing anything?
Yes. The full dashboard runs in read-only demo mode at cockpit.theeducationalequalityinstitute.org/demo/ with no login. The demo company is fictional; the product surface is the same one partners use in production.
Is there an API?
Yes. CSR Cockpit exposes API and reporting endpoints for sync, exports, and integration. Endpoint reference and authentication details are published in the cockpit documentation; ask for developer access through the contact form.
How is our data handled?
CSR Cockpit is GDPR-compliant. Employee data is scoped to your company, queries are tenant-isolated at the database layer, and write access is rate-limited and CSRF-protected. A DPA is available on request.
