TEEI is running an emergency relief campaign for Ukrainian Universities.
The Kharkiv Kotlyarevsky National University of Arts is the leading music and drama institution of higher education in Ukraine with more than 100 years of history. The university has raised many talented generations of musicians, actors, and directors within its walls.
However, and sadly the war didn’t bypass the university. Kharkiv is a city located in the northeast of Ukraine, close to the border with Russia. Since 24th February, it has been under bombing and shelling every day. As a result of two heavy rockets and air strikes, the university building was severely damaged, and almost all windows were broken. There is significant damage to the interior, and the building’s roof condition is critical.
The most painful issue is the condition of musical instruments that have barely withstood a load of March temperature -18°C. Unfortunately, many of them can no longer be used in the learning process. Musical instruments are crucial for the students learning and a great loss.
Therefore The Educational Equality Institute decided to provide the Kharkiv Kotlyarevsky National University of Arts with crucial assistance through the our university support program with fundraising support to reconstruct the building, save the musical instrument, continue its activity, digitalisation and admit new students in the upcoming academic year.
TEEI is truly grateful to its existing partners for their efforts and support so far. The NGO would love to see more Norwegian and international organizations join our endeavors because more resources are needed to give the help and support to rebuild Ukraine.
