Volunteer Online English Teacher

What you would do

• Teach online lessons to learners who booked an hour with you.
• Decide what each session covers, from a starting point we give you.
• Write two lines afterwards on how it went, so the next volunteer picks up where you left off.
• Tell us when a learner needs something you cannot give them.

Who we are looking for

• You speak English fluently.
• You have taught or tutored before, formally or not.
• You can keep an hour you have agreed to.
• A teaching qualification helps and is not required.

Most of our teachers are not teachers by trade. They are people who speak the language well and turn up when they said they would.

What you get

The work itself, and a written reference from us once you have taught a run of sessions. We are not going to promise you a certificate, a network or a career step. What we can say is that the hour lands on a real person, and you will know their name.

After you apply

Someone at TEEI reads your application and replies by email. If it fits, we take you through a short introduction to how the sessions run, and then you are matched with your first learner.
