You teach English to people running a country during a war.

What you would do
Your learners run a country while it is being invaded. They need English for briefings, correspondence, and meetings with the people who decide what help Ukraine gets.
- Take one level between A1 and C1 and teach it to a group of parliamentary staff.
- Cover general English plus the working vocabulary their jobs demand.
- Put materials and homework in the learning platform so the group can work between sessions.
- Hold the weekly slot for the length of the term, and say early when you cannot.
A TEEI Language volunteer
“It gives them an opportunity to speak to a native English speaker, and they practice their English and it builds their confidence.”

Who we are looking for
- You speak English fluently and have taught it, not only spoken it.
- You can hold a group of adults who are tired and short of time.
- You can keep the same hour every week for a term.
- Business or professional English experience counts for more here than a certificate.
Sessions get moved when the week goes badly. Teachers who can absorb that are the ones who last.
What you get
You teach people who use the language in the same week they learn it, in rooms where the words matter. After a term we write a reference naming the level you taught and how far the group got.
After you apply
A person reads this, not a filter. The next steps, when it works out: we agree the level and the slot, hand over the material that already exists, and introduce you to the group before the first session.
