Polish Language Teacher

You teach Polish to families who arrived and have to function in it by Monday.

TEEI Language · Remote · About 1 hour a week

Part of TEEI Language. See how the programme works and who it supports.

What you would do

Polish is the difference between running your own life in Poland and needing somebody beside you at every counter. Our learners are usually working out both at once.

  • Teach a cohort of adults over eight to twelve weeks, from the course material we provide.
  • Keep it usable: the clinic, the school, the landlord, the office, the shop.
  • Tell people where they actually stand, in a way somebody exhausted can act on.
  • Finish the cohort you started.

A TEEI Language volunteer

“It gives them an opportunity to speak to a native English speaker, and they practice their English and it builds their confidence.”

Charmaine D., Language Partner

Who we are looking for

  • You speak Polish at native or near-native level.
  • You have taught or tutored adults before.
  • You can hold one fixed weekly session for the length of a cohort.

Many learners are working, waiting on paperwork and raising children at the same time. Patience is the qualification.

What you get

You watch a room stop needing a translator for ordinary things, which happens faster than people expect. We write a reference afterwards that names the course and the hours.

After you apply

An answer comes whichever way it goes. Going ahead looks like this: we match you to the next Polish cohort, send you the material, and agree when it starts.
